It is much less important who it is that is given the opportunity to face the traitor that is Barack Hussein Obama than it is that the patriotic opposition is united.

Destroying each other along the way will only make it that much easier for the worst president in our nation's history to have a second term.

Back off the destructive rhetoric people, and work on what is most important: figuring out which one of you has the best chance of saving our nation from another four years of calculated and intentional destruction from within.

Whoever that is, doesn't really matter. Party affiliation doesn't really matter. What matters is that the traitor in the White House goes back to Chicago next year. Impeachment would be nice, if it could come along and save the nation sooner, but that's not likely to happen.

Impeachment is definitely a Right theory, Wrong universe, kind of thing. Wish we lived in that other universe, but we don't, so we'll just have to suffer through. As this nation has before. But at least the things we were suffering through in the past, we suffered through together - this time it is one of our own (yes, I said it..."birthers" get over yourselves) creating the problem.

Just in case you don't like the Menu of Classroom Activities [for] President Obama's Address to Students Across America on September 8, here are ten suggested alternative questions to explore with students from pre-K through high school.

1. President and Mrs. Obama have chosen to send their daughters to private school, at a cost of about $29,000 a year for each girl. What choices, if any, should other parents have about where their children go to school and about how to pay for educating their children? (I think that any politician who favors making it harder for citizens to have educational choices and then sends their own children anywhere other than the closest public school suffers from a serious ethical flaw.)

2. Why is it important that the president and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of Congress, or the governor listen to what citizens say, whether in town hall meetings or in any other form of citizen communication? Why is what citizens say important to these elected officials? (Them listening to us is far more important than us listening to them. But then, few of us have quite the Messiah complex that this one has...)

3. When elected officials pass laws should they and their staffs also be obliged to follow those same laws or should they be exempt--and in either case, why? (Should a President who committed crimes before he became President [e.g., Governor of Arkansas] be exempt from prosecution just because he is President?)

4. If an elected or appointed public official breaks the law what should be done about that? (Same question...)

5. When elected officials publicly make a promise, what should be done if they go back on their word and do something completely different--including the exact opposite of what they said they'd do? (Read my lips...no increase in taxes. Allowing a cut to lapse is an increase.)

6. President Obama is a big believer in personal responsibility. How does "personal responsibility" apply to elected officials and to citizens, in general? (If personal responsibility is an issue, when do we get an apology [preferably in the form of a resignation] for a "stimulus" that turned a minor setback that probably would have self-corrected by now into a crisis that probably won't be corrected until we get another administration in place?)

7. How much control should individual citizens have over their lives versus the amount of control given to government when it comes to things like education, health care, saving and investing for retirement and any other issue? (Similarly...should the federal Government actually have to follow the Constitution when passing laws about things the Constitution did not indicate as federal powers?)

8. What limits, if any, should there be on freedom of speech, such as on the radio, on TV, on YouTube, in print, in classroom discussions, etc.? (Do speeches to school children qualify for "equal time" under the Fairness Doctrine?)

9. What do you think about giving some students special preferences in admitting them to schools or awarding them money or prizes: what guidelines do you suggest? (Merit-based scholarships should be based solely on merit and not demographics.)

10. What is the one piece of advice that you would to each of the following groups: Teachers? Principals? Parents? Your fellow students? The American people? (How about a piece of advice for the President? [Resign. Now, before it is too late.])

Many people know that George Lucas intended to make 9 Star Wars movies, and the first one released was actually Episode IV. After doing Episodes IV through VI, and a LONG hiatus, he went back and did Episodes I through III.

Yours truly has learned via sources who claim to be close to Mr. Lucas but wish to remain anonymous because they don't want to stop being invited to his wild parties, that Episode VII will echo current events just as earlier ones have. For example, the name of the Nute Gunray character in Episode I: The Phantom Menace was an amalgam of Newt Gingrich and Ronald Reagan's names and the title of Episode IV: A New Hope reflected a need of the latter 1970s, the New Episode VII: The Lost Hope will reflect the realities of the current state of affairs in America and it's already-failed-beyond-salvage current administration. This latest episode will see, predictably, a reconstituted Sith under the shadowy Sith Master Darth Soros with the more visible apprentice Sith Lord Darth Obama. Together, they will construct a new and powerful weapon against all manind: the Debt Star. They will be served by inhuman droids that only have cryptic numeric designators like Bi-D3N, P3L0-C, R3-3D, and M0-oRE. Unfortunately, there haven't been any heroes cast yet for the story, it seems pretty bleak.

I didn't make this up, I claim none of this as my own. The anonymous sources told me, and we all know that those make reliable news.

Actually, the media has never reported facts when it comes to this campaign, from the earliest days even before there was officially a declared candidate. (I call it that because it has never shifted from campaign mode to governance mode.)

If the media is doing their jobs properly, they'll really never get any better than a "B-" or "C+" from anyone in politics, because they'll be sticking to the facts. And sticking to the facts always makes politicians nervous. Liberals more so than conservatives, of course, but all politicians believe that the truth is something to be exploited when it is in your favor and avoided when it isn't. (Liberals struggle more on this because they simply are so far out of kilter with the truth that they usually don't recognize it. Obama appointed Goldman Sachs lobbyists Mark Patterson chief of staff at the Treasury Department, where he directly oversees his former employer, a recipient of $10 billion of taxpayer funds from the TARP. Obama also appointed Raytheon lobbyist William Lynn to be an undersecretary of Defense.

Promise #3: No Tax Hikes on the Poor

What he said first:

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.” (September 12, 2008, Dover, N.H.)

What he did first:

By signing H.R. 2 into law, Obama happily signed onto the idea that smokers should pay for a $35 billion expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Plan (SCHIP). Cigarette taxes are going up 61 cents a pack starting April 1. Obama signed this bill knowing that the majority of smokers in the United States are working poor, and one in four lives below the federal poverty line.

What he said next:

“If your family earns less than $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes increased a single dime. I repeat: not one single dime.” (February 24th, 2009, Address to a Joint Session of Congress)

What he did next:

Ignored the already-hiked cigarette tax at the time of the statement and then this restated promise was broken just two days later, when the Obama’s budget proposal was released. His new budget raises 45 percent of its revenue from energy taxes that will be paid by everyone who fills a gas tank, pays an electric bill, or buys anything that was grown, shipped, or manufactured.

Promise #2: Pork Barrel Earmark Reform

What he said:

“The system is broken. We can no longer accept a process that doles out earmarks based on a member of Congress’ seniority, rather than the merit of the project. We can no longer accept an earmarks process that has become so complicated to navigate that a municipality or non-profit group has to hire high-priced D.C. lobbyists to do it. And we can no longer accept an earmarks process in which many of the projects being funded fail to address the real needs of our country.”

What he is expected to do:

The White House has signaled that it intends to sign the $410 billion Omnibus Appropriations bill, which according to Taxpayers for Common Sense, contains 8,570 earmarks totaling $7.7 billion, including dozens of wasteful pork-barrel projects. These earmarks were awarded based on seniority, not on merit, and were mostly the result of high-priced lobbying, precisely the process that Obama promised to end. When the omnibus reaches his desk later this week or next week, we’ll find out if this is one more broken promise.

Promise #1: Big Government

OK, so this one is more of a statement than a promise, but it’s the biggest whopper of all.

What he did:

Obama proposed a budget that is breathtaking in scope, a blueprint for the biggest permanent expansion of government in history right on the heels of a sweeping trillion dollar stimulus plan. The budget lays the foundation for a government takeover of the health care and energy sectors and dramatically increasing spending across the board, other than defense weapons programs. Spending as a percentage of the economy under this budget will reach the historic level of 27.7 percent this year. The deficit as a percent of the economy, at 12.3 percent, is set to be the biggest in the entire history of the country outside of the four peak years of World War II. Anyone who offers such a budget can only fairly be described as a believer in bigger government.

On the Minnesota Senate Situation

I have two thoughts about this...

There's a definite advantage to Al Franken going to the Senate. We won't have to listen to his angry hate-filled ranting that he tries to call comedy anymore. What the Senate does is generally much funnier.
The race is so close, it may never be resolved. Less than 1000 votes is the margin, one way or the other, out of millions cast. The problem there is that in any election where the Democrat gets more than, say, 20% of the vote, it is safe to presume that some level of corruption and fraud were involved. The hope is that it wasn't enough to determine the outcome. (Unfortunately, there are many documented cases where it did...JFK's initial election being the most widely studied.) With the margin this slim, it is impossible for any reasonable person to trust the result. Especially in a state that has already once elected a pro wrestler as Governor. (At least Jesse Ventura is a former Navy SEAL, whereas Franken is just an angry hate-filled bastard.)

It proves that I was right all along that he's like most (that's a vast "most", but I don't want to say "all" because I do actually know of one or two honorable Democrats - the exceptions that prove the rule) Democrats - a lying sack of crap. IF there is going to be a bailout...

There should be two criteria for the bailout to occur.

1) The bailout should take the form of the Government purchasing stock in any company being bailed out, with the restriction that whenever the company wishes to buy back any of its own stock at a future point in time, it must offer to buy back Government-owned shares first. Additionally, the Government must buy existing shares before any new shares are issued, and any company-owned shares must be sold to the Government first before any consumer-owned shares are sold.
2) All members of the board and officers of the companies being bailed out must waive any non-salary compensation for the duration of the bailout period (the period of time that the Government owns shares), and all salaries of board members and officers are frozen for the duration of the bailout.

So it seems that President-elect Obama (man, it hurts to say that) is planning on making extensive use of executive orders in the early days of his "rule" (to use the word that one of his senior advisers used recently) to get moving on things without waiting on Congress.

That's interesting, because that's a practice that the libtards reviled President Bush for using, calling it unconstitutional.

This creates two non-surprises for me, both welcome ones:

The use of executive orders is not unconstitutional. It is an important governance option for the President.
The hypocrisy and two-facedness of Democrats knows no bounds.

Wow...an attempt, if somewhat belated, to acknowledge what anyone with a brain already knew.

The Washington Post acknowledges biased coverage in favor of Obama.

Props to the Post for admitting it, although it would have been better to have not done it in the first place or acknowledged it and corrected the mistake pre-election. The absence of media bias could well have been the difference in the election.

Two questions remain: 1) will other media outlets follow suit? 2) if the media outlets start admitting where they are biased and publishing those admissions, where will they find space to report anything else?

Remember, Obama-Biden is just a hyphen and 4 letters from Osama Bin Laden. Be afraid. Be very afraid. And never forget whose fault it will be.

The nation has just proved that there is no significant racism in the country, confirming what I already believed. We'll elect a totally-unqualified half-assed socialist ideologue even if they are a minority. Now maybe all the minority activist groups that have been creating a false crisis can shut up. Yes, there is always room for improvement. Yes, there are still bastions of bigotry around. But it clearly isn't nearly as severe or as pervasive as some would have us believe. If anything, it is the people who are claiming racism that are the true racists.
George Bush won't have to wait long before people stop calling him the worst President in history. In 2 years, 4 years tops, and we'll be wishing we could have given W a third term rather than the mess we made for ourselves.
The margin of defeat (I won't call it victory, because America doesn't do anything but lose here) was probably larger than Democrat voter fraud (that's all one word, by the way - if anyone tells you that voter fraud is anything other than perpetuated by liberals, they're either lying or misguided). This means that there can be no argument over whose fault it is when the wheels come off this tricycle in the middle of the train tracks.
Winston Churchill once said that you can always count on America to do the right thing, after all other options have been attempted. After this colossal cock-up, hopefully America will be well poised to learn her lesson and keep liberals out of government for a while.

I'm not ashamed of America. I love my country, and always will, and in that regard I'll always be proud to be an American. Al Qaeda endorses Obama. That should be an indicator for any sane person, and especially any sane person who wants the best for America.
The Obama campaign is quietly limiting access to reporters from media outlets that have been less than orgasmic in their support for the candidate. There's no logical reason for this unless there is a smoking gun somewhere that needs to remain hidden. That should be a BIG indicator for anyone with a brain.
When democracy was first founded in ancient Greece, there were required qualifications for being able to vote. When America was founded, there were similar required qualifications for being able to vote. Now, some of those qualifications didn't make sense, but many of them did. Looking at the polls, it isn't hard to determine that some of those qualifications need to be brought back. If close to 50% of likely voters in America support Obama, then clearly we've extended the right to vote to some people with no business voting.

Two thoughts...

A foiled assassination plot against Obama is just about the worst possible thing that could happen to this country. He'll likely get some sympathy votes from people that might otherwise have grown a clue before Election Day. A successful one would not be much better, but would at least have the significant upside that we would be spared having him as President.
I'm going to be having surgery on November 13 and will be under general anesthesia. If the worst happens, and we see an Obama White House with a Congress having Democratic supermajorities in both houses, I can't quite shake the feeling that I'd just as soon not wake up.

With things falling apart for ACORN and the strong probability that Obama's campaign was involved, and even allegations that he might have been personally involved (I don't believe that last part), there's really only one fix that can assure fair and honest elections.

Void all voter registrations and require all registrations to occur at officially-designated locations, in person, with proof of citizenship and at least one form of government-issued picture ID. Ban all "convenience" registration. Start the process immediately, and delay the election if necessary.

Anything else creates voter fraud that unfairly favors Obama.

Of course, as usual, your mileage may vary.

3) If this bailout were important, the Congress would not be in recess right now until Thursday. There's no way out of this being the Democrats' fault, no matter how libtarded you are.
4) If this bailout were important, the Democrats would have relaxed some of their more egregious demands so that it could have had enough votes to pass even over the fact that their leader is a partisan idiot. This leads one to believe that it is the Democrats' fault if it needed to happen and didn't.
